Dr Emma Boland

Dr Emma Boland is a physical oceanographer at the British Antarctic Survey and has a particular interest in climate science.    Emma speaks to Linda Ness about her life and work and gives her views on climate change.   A must listen for those concerned about the environment.

Dr Ghina Halabi

Dr Ghina Halabi, is an Astrophysicist.  At one point she struggled with physics - until she met an inspirational teacher.  Ghina is now a consultant, space scientist and public speaker and works with Enterprise Women at Cambridge Judge Business School.  Ghina's story begins in Barouk, a small village tucked among the thousand-year-old cedars of Mount Lebanon....   She talks to Suzie Thorpe

COP27 is taking place in Sharm El-Shake in Egypt.  Zoe Arden, fellow at Cambridge University’s Institute for Sustainability Leadership, talks about the role of female leaders in the climate sphere.  

And we are joined by two of them - Liv Andersson, founder of BioZeroc, carbon neutral cement, speaks about the role of women in construction and Sushma Shankar from Deep Planet, tells us how they are using satellite imagery to help farmers.

Liv is founder and CEO of BioZeroc, a company founded in  2021 with a goal to decarbonise the construction industry, and they are working on producing carbon neutral cement.

Liv is a passionate sustainability specialist who has led international construction projects in residential as well as commercial buildings, focussing on low-carbon developments.

Sushma Shankar is the co-founder of Deep Planet, the goal of the company being to use machine learning for the benefit of the Planet.  They are building an Artificial Intelligence platform that uses satellite imagery and Internet of Things sensors to deliver insights in wine grape growing.
