VAT on sanitary products is about to be scrapped - good news long overdue. However there is another side to this, because money raised from the VAT has been used to help support females facing issues such as domestic and sexual abuse, mental health and long term unemployment.
The UK Community Fund manages this money and ensures that it goes to deserving charities. Sara Marshall from the Cambridgeshire Community Foundation talks to Linda Ness about how the money has been spent.
